Is God the Light that Shines? A Poem.

Is God the Light that Shines? A Poem.

the sun.
the sun emits light.
the light travels.
but does light die?
does it ever stop traveling?
if not, to what end does it travel?

light travels with no destination.
it is eternal.
it is forever.
light can be created but it can never die.

what if light is God?
what if God is light?
eternal and forever.

in day hours God fully envelopes His earth,
but in the night evil roams freely.
in the day we live and pray,
in the night, the Devil’s henchmen wreak their havoc.

is God the light that shines?
we sleep to await His coming.
to pass one night like the last.
awaiting His morning.

the sun

the sun emits light

the light travels

does light die?

does it ever stop traveling?

to what end does it travel?

light travels with no destination

its eternal

its forever

light can be created but it can never die

wjat if light is god

what if God is light

eternal and forever

in day hours god envelopes us

in the night evil roams freely

in the day we live and pray

in the night the devils henchmen wreak their havoc

is God the light that shines?

we sleep to await his coming

to pass one nightlike the last

awaiting His morning

What about the light within us? It seems that you’re speaking of the physical light we see?

In this poem I was referring to physical light, yes. But, I intended to leave the reader’s understanding of what “Light” could mean open to personal interpretation. :)

I can’t say I particularly like this poem. I’m not catholic and I find it very hard to apply any of these words to my own spirituality.
